Soulkyn

The site menu, read on 24 September 2026, lists beside the chat scenarios, creators, AI shorts, images, music and writings, collectible cards, auctions, contests and forums. The FAQ also explains its vocabulary: a kyn is the character, and your own identity in a story is a chat profile, of which you can hold several.

We opened three of those menu entries on 24 September 2026. The auction house comes first, because it is the part we have not seen elsewhere in this category. Retired public characters go up for adoption, bids are placed in Souls, the site's credits, each lot runs on a countdown, and the winner takes the character over. Twenty-three pages of lots were running when we looked.

The scenarios page lists community-made group stories, twenty pages of them, the most used one started 2,502 times. Pressing Use scenario opened a panel instead of a chat: scenarios are group chats, and group chats need a Deluxe plan. The panel puts the ceiling at seven kyns talking to you and to each other, which squares with the pricing page's group chat of up to eight.

The video hub announces more than a thousand public videos and four public playlists. Signed out, every video tile is blurred and marked Members only, so there is nothing to judge the video quality on without an account.

The Premium button in the site header leads to the pricing page. It offers three billing tabs, Monthly, 3 Months -10% and Yearly -20%, and a line that reads 100% safe. You can cancel anytime. We read the monthly tab. We did not see the three-month or yearly totals, so they are not in the table.

The landing pages, read on 23 September 2026, promise a start with no card. The trial page says the quotas roll rather than reset on a fixed day, and the pricing page does not list the free quota.

The terms of use do, as an example rather than a fixed figure: a free account can create up to 2 characters and send "10 to 20 messages in total", after which chatting stops unless credits are earned by completing set tasks. That is a sample of the chat, not a free plan.

That quota used to be much larger. A post on the Soulkyn blog dated 31 October 2025, Ending Freemium on Soulkyn, says unlimited free text generation ran for six months and was switched off, citing abuse, dataset scraping and free users who never paid. It describes Soulkyn as a two-person team. New users keep a trial with usage limits and no time limit. On 24 September 2026 we read soulkyn.com as a signed-out visitor: the pricing page, the terms of use and the chat.

Clicking to chat with a character opens a window headed Join Soulkyn. It lists what you can do after logging in, from chatting with AI to uncensored and voice responses, and ends on a Sign Up Now button. No message can be sent without an account, so there is no anonymous test drive.

The terms list two ways in: a social login through Discord or Google, or an email and a password.

The same day we opened a free account to read what sits behind that window. We went through the account tabs and the chat settings, and the checkout as far as the TrustPay card page described in the pricing section. The settings offer no way to bring your own key, model or proxy. The only model control is a switch, reserved to Deluxe, to Soulkyn's own GLM 5.2. We have not sent a message or generated an image from that account yet.

Corrected on 25 September 2026. This section said we had not created an account. We had, on 24 September 2026, for the settings and the checkout described here.

On one of our visits, soulkyn.com opened a window headed Confirm you're an adult. It says age verification is now required by law in your country to keep using Soulkyn, and that it takes about a minute. Its button, Verify my age, leads to a page run by an outside partner. The window did not appear on our other visits. Since it cites the law of your country, whether you see it depends on where you connect from, and this page cannot tell you in advance.

The window makes several privacy promises. These are Soulkyn's statements, and we have not verified any of them: we did not submit a document or a face, and we did not record the partner's name.

The marketing site loaded the following on a cold visit on 23 September 2026. We did not measure the product at soulkyn.com, which may load more or fewer.

We score platforms on six criteria. Price we can now read from Soulkyn's own page. But we have not chatted or generated an image on Soulkyn yet: the free account we opened served to read its settings and its checkout, and the terms put a free account at 10 to 20 messages, short of the session our protocol runs. Conversation quality, image generation and ease of use are untested. Features and privacy we can read only from Soulkyn's own statements.

Scoring on that basis would mean inventing half the numbers in a public ranking, which is what our methodology exists to prevent. So we publish the prices and the walls, not a score, and Soulkyn stays out of our main ranking and our comparison tables.
