We removed Chai on 16 September. chai.ml now redirects to chai-research.com, which presents itself as "AI Characters & Stories", a research company with a character chat app. That is not a companion platform, and our own page admitted it by opening with "Chai is the odd entry in this list".
Do not confuse it with chai-ai.run, which ranks on the query "chai ai" and sends visitors to lovel.ai. That is a third-party domain trading on the name, not Chai.
If you used Chai for companionship and want somewhere to go, say what you liked about it and we will point you at what matches.
